HAISEA MARINE is a joint venture majority owned by the Haisla Nation in partnership with Seaspan ULC. Both partners have considerable experience and knowledge of operating in Northern British Columbia, making HaiSea a natural choice for providing responsible and dependable marine services in the region.
HAISLA NATION is the band government of the Haisla people with the mission to build a powerful, prosperous and proud community, healthy in mind, body and spirit. Haisla Nation consists of about 1700 people, with the majority living in Kitamaat Village. They believe that careful and appropriate economic development will bring necessary self-sufficiency. Sustainable and realistic economic opportunities are increasingly available, and promise benefits for the Haisla people – and for every British Columbian.
SEASPAN is an association of Canadian companies primarily involved in coastal marine transportation, shipdocking/ship escort, ship repair and shipbuilding services in Western North America. In addition to the marine transportation services offered directly through Seaspan, commercial ferry, shipyard and bunkering services are provided via affiliate companies: Marine Petrobulk, Seaspan Ferries, Vancouver Drydock, Vancouver Shipyards and Victoria Shipyards.
